XXV Announcement of prizes J. García-Siñeriz (2018-2019)
Best Geophysical Pure or Applied Doctoral Thesis J. García-Siñeriz Prize, endowed with 6.000 euros
Terms and Conditions
First
A Prize of 6000 € will be granted to distinguish the best Geophysical Pure or Applied Doctoral Thesis made in Spanish or Ibero-American Universities.
Second
Graduates and Engineers whose Thesis have been defended during year 2018 will be considered eligible for the award.
All candidates shall submit, together with the work, a supporting document stating the date of reading, issued by the Center in which it was done.
Third
The deadline of presentation of the Thesis will be June 30th, 2019.
The application will be submitted online using the application form available on our website (www.fundaciongarciasineriz.es). Also, a full bound paper copy of the Thesis and summary (less than five DIN-A4 pages) will we sent to the address that appears in Term Tenth.
Fourth
Prizes are indivisible and could remain unawarded.
Fifth
The prize will be granted by a committee composed by: J. García Siñeriz Award Committee.
Sixth
The Committee criteria will be the scientific or technical quality of the Thesis.
Seventh
The decision of the Committee , which will be final, will be announced before November 30, 2019.
Eighth
All the applicants commit themselves to accept that the presented documentation may become a part of the J. García-Siñeriz Foundation’s Library , where it could be consulted and be reproduced.
Ninth
The Thesis will be written in Spanish, English or Portuguese.

Extraordinary prize XXV anniversary, endowed with 3,000 euros.
Terms and Conditions
First
A Prize of 3000 € will be granted to distinguish the best Geophysical work, published in an impact journal, whose first author is a young Spanish or Ibero-American researcher.
Segunda
The young researcher must have defended his Doctoral Thesis at a later date than January 1, 2010. An official document will be provided that proves it. The researcher will only be able to present a work in which he appears as the first author. The publication date of the work must be after the reading of the Doctoral Thesis.
Third
The deadline of presentation of the Thesis will be June 30th, 2019.
The application will be submitted online using the application form available on our website (www.fundaciongarciasineriz.es). Also, a paper copy of the Research Work will we sent to the address that appears in Term Tenth.
Fourth
The prize is indivisible and will be given to the first author of the selected work. The price could remain unawarded.
Fifth
The Committee will be formed by members of the Board of the J. García-Siñeriz Foundation and prestigious scientists belonging to universities and research centers in Spain or Latin America.
The court shall be presided over by the President of the J. Garcia-Siñeriz Foundation or by an employer in whom he delegates and acts as secretary to the Secretary of the Foundation.
Sixth
The criteria that the court will apply will be the scientific quality of the work and its impact on possible new ways of investigation. The decision will be made by vote.
Seventh
The decision of the Committee , which will be final, will be announced before November 30, 2019.
